LOG HOUSE
A modern log house project
This project shows that a log house can keep its traditional character while gaining a modern, elegant setting. The starting point was classic timber logs, but their natural, intense colour was deliberately lightened to a subtle, pastel wood tone.
Thanks to this, the interior keeps the authenticity of a log house while gaining lightness and a more contemporary character. Light wood was paired with natural stone, quartz sinter, soft fabrics and gold details.
Classic logs in a pastel finish
The most important design decision was moving away from the traditional, dark colour of the logs. Lightening the wood preserved its characteristic structure while opening up the possibility of using more contemporary materials and forms.
The pastel wood tone became the base for the whole interior, accompanied by broken whites, beiges, black and muted stone tones. The result is a combination of a traditional log house with a modern, elegant interior style.
Natural Taj Mahal stone and quartz sinter
Stone plays an important role in the project. Natural Taj Mahal stone was used on the fireplace and in the kitchen, among other places on the countertop and the kitchen island. Its light colour and delicate veining pair well with the pastel wood.
The project also uses quartz sinter inspired by the pattern of natural stone, allowing the look of premium materials to be kept on large, demanding surfaces.
Mouldings, wallpaper and modern lighting
Ceiling mouldings emphasise the classic character of the interior, paired with modern cabinetry and contemporary furnishings. Wallpapers with a pronounced texture appear on the walls, adding an extra material layer and softening the surfaces.
The project uses modern AQFORM light fixtures and decorative Aromas del Campo lighting. Lighting was treated as part of the interior's architecture — spotlights and backlighting bring out the texture of the wood, stone and wallpaper.
Wood, natural fabrics and gold details
The interior is complemented by natural fabrics and materials that visually reference their texture. Soft sofas, curtains, rugs and upholstered elements soften the hardness of the wood and stone. Gold details in the lighting, fittings and furnishings complete the whole.
A traditional log house in a modern form
This project is an example of a traditional log house in a modern form. The wood construction wasn't hidden — it was made the main element of the arrangement, its colour changed and combined with Taj Mahal stone, quartz sinter, mouldings, wallpaper and modern lighting.
The result is a modern log house interior, where traditional construction and a contemporary log house design meet on equal terms.
